As shipping becomes increasingly connected and data-driven, cybersecurity in 2026 is no longer just an IT concern – it is a business, safety, and regulatory risk. Xerxes Kiok Kan, our Head of Information Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance, points out that regulators, owners, and auditors now demand evidence of effective controls. For shipowners and operators, the differentiator is demonstrable, consistent resilience at scale.

A 2.5-year partnership with ShipIn, centred on its FleetVision™ platform, has helped transform onboard cameras on a pilot group of vessels from passive recorders into an active, intelligent network that enhances safety, empowers crews, and delivers tangible value for shipowners.

Anglo-Eastern has successfully completed 15.5 man-days of auditing for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System and ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System.

Anglo-Eastern is among the first ship managers to treat cybersecurity as a core element of safety and compliance, not just an IT function.

On the occasion of World Maritime Day, Anglo-Eastern is delighted to spotlight four exploratory projects developed by cadets at our Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy.

People are at the heart of the maritime industry. As operations become increasingly complex, fostering a strong safety culture that extends beyond compliance is more crucial than ever—especially for diverse, multicultural crews operating in demanding environments. Emerging technologies are creating new opportunities to elevate safety standards onboard vessels, helping crew members and their onshore support identify risks earlier, remain resilient, and utilise data to make smarter, faster decisions.

“We don’t innovate for the sake of technology. We innovate for the sake of our people and to make their work safer, their decisions smarter, and their potential limitless.” Swapnodeep Mondal, Group Managing Director of Operations and Shared Services, shares some of the latest innovations being evaluated across our fleet.

In the dynamic field of ship management, operational efficiency and cost management are critical to maintaining a competitive edge. Recognising this, we established our Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Navi Mumbai two years ago with a clear mission—to streamline operations, enhance service quality, and reduce cost-to-serve to our global customers. With the expansion of this centre to a new floor in April 2025, it is worth reflecting on the strategic benefits this initiative has brought to our organisation and how it enhances the service we provide to our clients, crew, and business unit teams.

“Together, we are not just adopting technology; we are redefining what is possible in maritime operations”. In this vein, Swapnodeep Mondal, Group Managing Director of Operations and Shared Services, shares some of the latest innovations in use/being considered across our managed fleet to foster innovative thinking and continuous improvement

As Steve Jobs said “innovation is the ability to see change as an opportunity –
