In a year shaped by evolving cyber regulations and an intensified focus on digital resilience, Anglo-Eastern Ship Management continues to set the benchmark for security, continuity, and trust across its global operations.
Anglo-Eastern has successfully completed 15.5 man-days of auditing for the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System and ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System. The certification journey was conducted in partnership with BSI, who provided independent assessment and guidance to ensure compliance with international standards, helping us continually raise the bar in information security and business continuity.
This year’s audit marks a significant milestone, with the certification scope expanded to include three additional offices, our Miami Office, and the Anglo-Eastern Training Centre in Mumbai – reinforcing Anglo-Eastern’s global commitment to operational excellence, resilience, and data protection.
As cybersecurity regulations evolve, such as NIS2 in Europe and the forthcoming Hong Kong Protection of Critical Infrastructure (Computer Systems) Bill, Anglo-Eastern remains proactive in ensuring compliance and resilience across all touchpoints. As a key player to the maritime industry, we embed Information Security and Business Continuity into every process supporting our fleet operations, crew, and clients worldwide.
“At Anglo-Eastern, we view information security and business continuity not only as obligations or checklist exercises, but also as strategic enablers that strengthen the business,” said Xerxes Kiok Kan, Head of Information Security. “They allow us to maintain trust, ensure service reliability, and navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing digital and maritime environment.”
Why it matters
These internationally recognised certifications reaffirm Anglo-Eastern’s commitment to safeguarding sensitive data, ensuring service continuity, and maintaining operational integrity.
- ISO/IEC 27001:2022 outlines how we manage information security risks, from cyber threats to data privacy.
- ISO 22301:2019 ensures our critical operations can continue with minimal disruption during unforeseen events, protecting our crews, vessels, and clients.
For shipowner partners and clients, these certifications offer assurance that Anglo-Eastern operates under globally recognised frameworks that protect data, ensure operational stability, and minimise risk across our managed fleet and offices.
Together, these frameworks reflect our dedication to resilience, compliance, and the trust our clients place in us every day.
Supporting Vessel IT Operations
In parallel, Anglo-Eastern ensures its Global Contact Centre (GCC) team who provide round-the-clock support for Vessel IT Operations – remains fully compliant and certified under ISO/IEC 27001. This alignment guarantees that our vessel operations uphold the same standards of security, consistency, and reliability as our shore-based offices, reinforcing the integrity of our end-to-end IT ecosystem across sea and shore.
Looking ahead
Anglo-Eastern continues to invest in new technologies, automation, and global collaboration to enhance resilience across our fleet and offices. Our focus remains clear: to stay ahead of emerging regulations, evolving cyber risks, and the growing expectations of our clients and partners.
This audit is a reminder that certification is not the destination, but part of an ongoing journey. We remain committed to maintaining and continually raising the bar in safeguarding our systems, people, and partners – ensuring trust and operational continuity across the organisation.
