On 5 June, MV Graceous, a capesize bulk carrier managed by Anglo‑Eastern for Teh‑Hu Cargocean, achieved a significant milestone at Visakhapatnam Port, one of the major ports in India. Measuring 292 metres in length with a beam of 45 metres and a draft of 12.2 metres, the vessel became the largest to enter the port’s inner harbour to date.
Carrying 100,198 metric tonnes of coal, MV Graceous successfully completed a carefully coordinated inbound passage to berth EQ-1 of the port. The manoeuvre required detailed planning and seamless execution, involving Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA)’s harbour master, senior pilots, marine conservancy team, and tug operators, alongside our seafarers under the command of Capt Anurag Puniya and Chief Engineer Abhirup Dalai.
The operation was supported by three assisting tugs. The vessel was safely shifted from berth VGCB and made fast at berth EQ-1 at 07:24 local time, marking a notable advancement in cargo handling within Visakhapatnam Port’s inner harbour.
