We welcomed the inaugural cohort of our Graduate Trainee Programme (GTP) in July, marking an important milestone in our commitment to developing future shore-based talent from within.
GTP is a structured, six-month initiative designed to identify, develop, and absorb recent high-potential graduates into shore-based roles across two India-based business units: our Marine HR team in our Mumbai Office and our India Shared Services Centre (ISSC).
Comprising 11 graduate trainees, with five in our Marine HR team and six in ISSC, the first cohort runs from July to December 2026, marking a significant step in our commitment to building a sustainable pipeline of shore-based talent from within.
On their first day, the trainees were formally welcomed by Vineet Gupta, Managing Director of Marine HR, and Tushar Gawande, Director of ISSC, who shared their perspectives on Anglo-Eastern’s culture, values, and future opportunities.
A special addition
Beyond its role in developing future talent, the programme also reflects Anglo-Eastern’s broader commitment to creating opportunities through education. The inaugural cohort includes a trainee selected from ANAVI, a charitable initiative founded by Peter Cremers, Chairman of the Board at Anglo-Eastern.
ANAVI focuses on education, skill development, and improving opportunities for underprivileged communities with compassionate support. The selection of an ANAVI participant into our Graduate Trainee Programme is particularly meaningful, reflecting our belief in creating pathways from education to meaningful careers and demonstrating the real impact of investing in future talent.
Over six months, trainees are set to combine structured learning with hands-on exposure across the business, including vessel operations, client-facing functions and support services. This provides a well-rounded understanding of how Anglo-Eastern serves seafarers, clients and partners worldwide. Each trainee is paired with an experienced mentor, and the programme will conclude with participants presenting their ideas and recommendations to senior business leaders.
For Anglo-Eastern, the investment in home-grown talent means a workforce that understands our culture, our people, and our clients’ needs from day one, translating into more consistent, knowledgeable service for everyone we work with. Outstanding trainees may go on to permanent roles, strengthening the organisation’s long-term capability.
The launch reflects the collective effort of programme sponsors, business leaders, mentors and teams across Anglo-Eastern. As the inaugural cohort embarks on its journey, the programme represents a long-term investment in the people who will help shape the organisation’s future, bringing fresh perspectives, new skills and lasting capability to the business.
