In one recent case, underwater footage directly informed the decision to carry out hull cleaning, preventing continued efficiency loss and unnecessary fuel burn.

Rather than waiting for ideal inspection conditions or scheduled interventions, crews can carry out checks during routine operational pauses: while drifting, at anchor, or following time spent in fouling‑prone regions.
